Abstract

Design is becoming a strategic factor in business development, which has led to further growth in the creative industry. The increase in this type of business contributed to the general objective of this article, which is to help appreciate the trends in the type of leadership currently exercised by design companies and thus provide a starting point for future research. The work explores the leader behaviors in the creative industry field in México, and aims to help creative directors make better decisions when working as a team, responding more efficiently to the challenges that currently arise in the area of the creativity. Finally, the study concludes that, although task-oriented behavior is dominant, it is a fact that the leader must also be enthusiastic about creativity and innovation.

Author Biography

Verónica Lizett Delgado Cantú, Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León

Doctora en Filosofía con especialidad en Administración. Actualmente es Directora de la Facultad de Artes Visuales UANL, donde es profesora de tiempo completo desde agosto 2003 a la fecha. Es Licenciada en Mercadotecnia por el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. Sus estudios de maestría los realizó en el área de Diseño Gráfico por la Universidad de Monterrey. En 2017 presentó el Examen de doctorado aprobado con mención Summa Cum Laude. En el 2018 recibió el reconocimiento a perfil deseable PRODEP.
