Abstract

In this article, the topic of illustration will be addressed, taking into account an important area of its performance, the comics industry, essential information about its background will be seen, such as its origin and stages, and the sustainability factor that lies in it will be analyzed. The contaminating materials that are commonly used in artistic elaboration and in the assembly of the specimens will be mentioned, as sustainable alternatives for these; as well as focusing on the artistic trend of “EcoArt” (ecological art) and its contributions to sustainability. These terms will be intertwined to determine if both are congruent with each other, if they serve as support for the other part. The aim is to prove that sustainability is part of the comics industry and therefore, of illustration, the fact that you can be more sustainable in the development of large-scale artistic processes.
