Abstract

This study examines the influence of the Russian method on musical training at the Faculty of Music of UANL over the past three decades, through a roundtable with specialists. Technical, pedagogical, and cultural contributions adapted to the local context were identified, along with the perceptions of teachers, graduates, and students regarding its application. The research was designed under a qualitative phenomenological approach with non‑experimental quantitative support, focusing on the analysis of questions and answers that reveal the essential characteristics of the Russian method, its implementation, and the challenges faced in Mexico. A relevant aspect was the role of Cuban professors who arrived in the 1990s, recently graduated from the Higher Institute of Havana, and who shared their youthful experiences with the method and its adaptation in Monterrey. Finally, the roundtable was valued as a historical and symbolic technique that continues to serve today as a meaningful space for the exchange of ideas.
