Abstract

Procrastination is a common practice that involves postponing important tasks through alternative activities, avoiding facing responsibilities. In creative careers such as the arts (music, dance, painting, sculpture), this habit can be especially detrimental, affecting students’ technical and emotional progress. Discipline is essential in these areas, as it fosters brain stimulation and daily motivation. In more theoretical professions, where assessments often depend on written or group projects, procrastination may not impact performance as much, but it is still problematic. In the case of piano students, procrastination seriously affects fundamental skills such as technique, coordination, sight reading, and memory, hindering academic progress. Addressing this habit is crucial to ensure optimal development. Therefore, strategies are sought to reduce procrastination, promoting efficient performance and a solid graduation profile in students.
