Abstract

The history of music goes back to primitive times; in religious rites, ceremonies and social events; in hunting and warfare. As civilization advanced, gave way to new styles and genres, music is very much a part of culture and it intertwines traditions and manifestations that mark with an original stamp every corner of the world. From the chamber music in the XVIII century to the folkloric music of each region, highlighting the most characteristic features that define them and that are some of the fundamental and main principles of the current culture of the different races. One of the most impacting purposes of music is education, since it interacts with the human being to express through it the most intimate ideas or feelings. However, speaking of a new genre “Regueton” which has its origins in the 90’s and is known as a variant of reggae and hip-hop in Spanish, influenced by Latin rhythms and has evolved and mutated drastically in recent years, as it has overflowed a vulgar image of those who interpret and consume it, due to its destructive image towards women because it involves gender difference and discrimination.
