Abstract

Scientific presentations have no requirements of structure or number of words or slides, what is usually a problem for beginners. In contrast, scientific posters have a defined format and an attractive visual aspect. Therefore, this practical presentation design guide with poster guidelines is proposed. A systematic review of poster design and presentation was made, looking for articles that meet four quality criteria. Four categories were identified and used to analyze winning posters. Results indicates that those follow most of the suggestions from which a design model was built and applied to this text as example.
