Abstract

In this text, which is presented in two parts, the presence of the various artificial beings that have populated the human imagination is addressed; animated by myth, magic and science, these creatures follow along the human being in his perpetual quest to discover the secret mechanisms of existence. In this first part, automata, robots, androids, and cyborgs are reviewed, beings that are depositories of the desires and concerns of the human species as well as they appear as protagonists of literary, cinematographic works, television series, comics, and video games.

Author Biography

Jesús Eduardo Oliva Abarca, Autonomous University of Nuevo León

Professor-researcher at the Faculty of Visual Arts, UANL. He is a research professor at the Autonomous University of New Lion. His line of research is Cultural Industries and Creative, and her specialty is in the sociology of art and literature. He has successfully completed funded research projects, from which published scientific articles have been derived in different national and international magazines. At the moment He works as Deputy Director of the Center for Research and Graduate from the Faculty of Visual Arts of the UANL.
